I'm a highly experienced business writer with 20 years experience at global investment banks in London and Hong Kong. I've also worked as a financial editor, written for magazines, worked as a professional photographer and set up and run my own businesses.
What does that mean for you? Well, I think my wide experience gives me a different perspective. As a market analyst for global investment banks (including Deutsche Bank, Samsung Securities and Daiwa Securities) I wrote financial market and corporate strategy reports to tight deadlines for some of the most demanding clients out there. I've had to justify my opinions to investors in charge of billions of dollars. So when clients say that writers have to be prepared to stand behind their copy, I know exactly what they mean.
I've also managed teams of financial writers, directing and editing their work so I know about tailoring a product to a client.
Alongside financial writing, I've worked with organisations like the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and the Mineral Tramways Project and written magazine articles on subjects as diverse as horse riding holidays in the USA and the revival of Cornish tin mining. And finally, I've worked as a professional photographer so I know how to make words and images work together.
And I don't just look at business from a theoretical perspective. Having set up and run two high street photographic studios, I write with real, hands-on experience and understand business from the ground up.
My writing style? Analytical, direct, clear (a magazine article once described me as being a "no bells and whistles kind of guy" which I think was a compliment...) but also with a touch of humour. Life's too short not to have a little fun along the way.
So if you think you could use somebody with my experience, get in touch and let's talk.
